According to application socket and ball eyes belong to link fittings used to assemble insulators to a string and fix insulator strings on towers.The connection of suspension clamps and insulator string , strain clamps and insulator string,and protective fittings and towers needs it.Except socket and ball eyes,there are shackles,clevis(type zs,z,p,pd,ps) ,extensive links,twisted straps,ajustable plates,etc.

Most of link fittings are formed by forging in order to get a high mechanical properties.Materials used are usually Q235,35#,45#,Q345,65Mn to GB/T 700-2006.
